Standish User Research Forum (SURF) is a collection of IT executives from various user organizations throughout the world. These executives represent a cross section of the IT community from different industries, organization sizes, and geographic locations. SURF members participate in many of our various research projects including CHAOS, DARTS, Focus Groups and Virtual Research Exchanges (REX).

SURF members enjoy many benefits such as solutions to some of the most pressing issues of the day. They help guide the advancement of information technology and processes through their combined knowledge and experience. SURF members may elect to get paid for their participation or they can contribute their honorarium to various charities. These honorariums are commensurate with the activity. For example, Monthly DARTS pays $25 each month for about 20 questions.

Benefits include:

  • Access to the latest results
  • Honorarium
  • Industry Influence

The CHAOS research project uses several different instruments including project tracking, project profiles, and project assessments.  Here is an example of one of the CHAOS instruments. Please note: Not all surveys are available to all members, as each one has a qualification element. Also there are limits by industries, organization sizes, and geographic locations to insure distribution of results.
